Point is, a lot of people have a Greek/Roman style build in their Minecraft repertoir, but not many know of the Industrial Era style inspired by the Greek/Roman. This is why you still see banks, even newly made ones, that look like the Pantheon. This is why you still see old libraries made of white or pink stone with sculpted moulding and metal sconces and huge windows. Greek and Roman-inspired, full stone, marble floors, metal sconces, high ceilings and wide walkways, everything affecting a dream of opulence and grandeur. A fresh style of building was introduced from the time of the first skyscraper's construction (Chicago 1885) until the end of WWII. New breakthroughs in both engineering and architectural design were being made in the late 1800s in the US. I'm somewhat of an expert on the following topic so forgive the excited nerd speak. Note that we are talking about a style that can be applied to multiple buildings, both houses and larger ones - not just one-off "block-by-block-notre-dame replicas" or anything like that.ĭoes anyone have any cool things to share or suggest? So my question is - what other architectural styles, either inspired by real world or made up for something else, you feel can be applied well to minecraft? Preferably something that hasn't been done to hell and back (although it's minecraft, EVERYTHING has been done in minecraft by someone somewhere, im sure). At this point a "dirt house" house is often more rare than some of these. So have asian styles, medieval castley styles, generic fantasy styles, modern "eco-buildings" and scyscrapers, etc. But viking themed huts have been done a lot.
